End of October Update

We have had some computers issues, thus the reason why it has been 2 weeks since my last post.  Like most of the Midwest, we had severe weather and very high winds last week.  For us, the only damage was the internet was down for 3 days.  Then when the internet starts working, the computer starts acting crazy; it kept shutting off and rebooting itself.  I was able to run scans for viruses and spyware along with cleaning out the temp files and all seems to be working now....Long story I know!

We spent 2 days up north October 23 and 24th.  You won't believe the progress in a week.  When we arrived on Saturday, it was raining.  That didn't stop the roofer...you can see him waving from the rooftop in one of the pictures.  The interior rooms are all framed, the roof on the porch off the master bedroom is on and about half the roof is completed.

Check out the picture of the bright light in the ceiling.  That is a solar tube.  See how much light is coming down and it was a rainy day!  We have 2 of the solar tubes, 1 in each of the bathrooms that have no windows.

We originally were going with a metal roof, but after determinig that most of the roof will be covered with solar panels, it seems like a waste to spend the extra money for a metal roof....hope we made the right decision.

Hope you enjoy the pictures.

  1. Wow! It looks great! I am always amazed by how fast a house starts to look like a house. Also, I love the pictures of the Fall leaves. So beautiful.
